Wednesday 24/10

So… I’ve been trying to come up with alternative ideas for the video to present to the students on Friday.
Was sent a link to a video
Think I’m going to propose to the students that we do a collection of photos to the lyrics that they wrote last term, instead of trying to film a music clip as we don’t have access to some of the areas that we need

Today’s double

Today we did lots of things
The girls went with Ms Thompson and started the painting of the cow. With the paint on it looks very different, looks good.

The boys stayed with Mrs Mathieson to work on the music video. LOL they are having to sing Smile
The girls are going to sing the chorus.
We have a practice run during our next lesson on Friday
Next Tuesday we will be making the music video, down at the Ag plot
they doing a voice over on Wednesday – so we’ll see how it goes.

14/09/12 Cow designs

Some designs for the cows. These ideas have been put forward by Lianna G from yr12 Art who found a template on a desk in out classroom during Bio, she did some as a joke, but then she can up with some other ideas as well once I told her about the project.  She was thinking the clothes could be good - made from cotton, maybe cut open the cow and see if we could grow cotton or something inside it?

Cara G. - We should really grow cotton inside of the cow, that'd be epic! Kate M- In that case we need to figure out how :)
Stuart Mc – You could cut it open and put lights in it and make it a greenhouse ?
Jackie B - roller skates would be cool lol
Lianna G to make the cotton stand you could use tutu material?
Beau B. Instead of tutu material cause it’s not cotton, could we use wire?

13/08/12 Miscommunication hahahahaha

The funniest thing that happened in beginning of the process is that I forgot to mention that the cow was fibreglass. My staff members could understand why I was so calm about a ‘bull’ arriving and why i was going to paint it, as that’s against the animal welfare policy. My HT Ag wasn’t happy that i had a bull coming as we had nowhere to put it. After I explained that it was a fibreglass version, everyone laughed and told me I should’ve lead off with that. Then I had to go away, while away the cow was delivered, and the Science staff, were getting calls from the deputies and office staff, to find out where I wanted my ‘cow’ delivered and that putting in the shed was not acceptable and again against the animal welfare policy :) Now they understood why it was so easy to be misunderstood.

07/08/2012 ART4AG

Today I found out that GHS would be participating in the ART4AG competition. This was exciting and scary as, as a teacher I’ve never done anything like this. I was extremely thankful to the two companies Carroll Cotton Gin and the Naomi Cotton growers assoc. for sponsoring us :) The funniest thing that happened in beginning of the process is that I forgot to mention that the cow was fibreglass.
